Hollywood under Chinese influence

"Does Beijing hold the keys to Hollywood? This is the question posed by this fascinating documentary, which traces how China, in just a few decades, has extended its influence over the production and distribution of American blockbusters.

Since 1997 three films accused of "damaging" the country's image (Seven Years in Tibet, Kundun, about the Dalai Lama's youth, and the thriller Red Corner) were blacklisted by China.

Since Covid, the situation has changed: China has decided to limit American imports and is now relying on its own increasingly efficient industry to the great despair of Hollywood, which, by bending too much, has given itself lumbago."
