copper crime

Thousands of customers in Adelaide's northern suburbs and the Barossa Valley were without internet for a second time this week after suspected vandalism to TPG Telecom fibre cables.

A TPG spokesman said the fibre cut had caused disruption to broadband services for thousands of iiNet, Internode, TPG and Vodafone residential and enterprise customers & could not confirm whether the suspected vandalism was related to copper theft.

Stealing copper wire and other metals to be sold for scrap recycling remains a global issue.
